Am I alone for life

Posted in Group:

I can't help but wonder is my life over, how can someone possibly love me after I tell him I've been exposed to herpes? How will he look at me afterwards, will he be scared to have sexual intercourse with me? This has me so stressed, which by the way may cause an outbreak...

First of all, breath... its ok. There are thousands of people who live with herpes everyday and live wonderful lives :) Having herpes does not define you.

Yes, you will have to be a lot more careful and more honest with people about your condition when you are being sexual with them... but that doesnt mean that you cant get married or have children and a family.

Read books, the internet, and seek help from professionals on how to keep the outbreaks to a minimum.... you can learn how to control it.

:) Lily

If you read through the threads on here you will see that life does go on. If you take antiviral once a day the risks of passing this virus is down to 1% per year. A risk that many man are ready to take just to be with you. Many stories on here of women with herpes dating uninfected men. Me included.
