2nd outbreak

Posted in Group:

AHHHHHHHH!! I am pretty sure I am having my second outbreak, the first was 2 months ago and I am just hoping this one is quicker and less painful than the first. I know that is what usually happens, but I am still a little worried because that first one HURT. I have some lidocaine and vicodin left over, so I am armed and ready...I am not on meds right now because I really hate putting stuff into my body if I don't need it...I think I can deal with having an outbreak every few months, but I am also not sleeping with anyone right now. Maybe if/when I get into a new relationship I should think about going on antivirals...I'm just thinking out loud here, just had to express some things I couldn't exactly post to Facebook!

Everyone please send me some positive energy so this OB ends quickly!!! Right now I just have a few bumps that don't hurt but I remember it took a few days for them to blister up last time...

How have you been doing? The second one should not be as bad as the first one but there are always exceptions. The positive thing is that you've been through an outbreak already, you know what to expect so just that I think will make it more maneageable physically and emotionally.

I am all about health and keeping fit. I have never taken medicine in my life but no one will take my antiviral away from me.

Im sending you good vibes my friend! Okay, so I also had my initial outbreak two months ago (Diagnosed in November), and now I'm wondering when I'll know if it's a recurrence or not. Mine was all inside, the moist area of my genitals. Will it be like that again? Or can it move to the area above, I'm worried because I don't want to be over anxious about razor burn when I never even had any symptoms there last time, but I also dont want to assume its nothing since the recurrences can be far less severe. Does anyone have any advice?

I got some Acyclovir on Wednesday and it is great, I have avoided another awful experience. I also worry about razor burn and irritating the skin down there...I worry that I will incite a new outbreak if I shave or something. So complicated...

I recently finished my second outbreak. It wasn't as bad as the first for certain. I have been debating about taking antivirals altogether for the same reasons you do. I try to tough out whatever I can myself. Hopefully, I won't need them. I'll keep my fingers crossed that OB passes quickly.
